Job summary

IBM Quantum is seeking motivated engineering students to contribute to a Rust-based distributed modeling simulator and to develop automation tools for testing, data collection, and analysis. You will debug simulation execution within a prototype distributed control system and collaborate with compiler, runtime, and FPGA teams.

This internship-oriented role targets students pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in CS, CE, Physics or related fields, with experience in Rust, Git, Linux, and CLI

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's/Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Experience with Rust, Git, Linux, and command-line environments.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Contribute performance and monitoring improvement to an existing Rust based distributed modeling simulator.
• Develop software and automation tools for simulator test execution, data collection, and analysis.
• Debug simulation execution in a prototype distributed control system test environment.
• Collaborate with compiler, runtime, and FPGA development teams.
