Job summary

IBM Quantum is seeking motivated computer science students to learn about and develop the world's first large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer. You will help extend and improve our local developer experience around automated bringup and integration testing of the software components that orchestrate low-level Quantum job execution.

Qualifications

Pursuing a CS/engineering degree.
Experience with Rust and Docker.
Familiarity with local Kubernetes environments (K3s/Minikube).

Responsibilities

Improve local developer experience for automated bringup and integration testing of runtime software components.
Design and implement Bazel-based build and test workflows for runtime framework components.
Develop and maintain local Kubernetes environments (K3s, Minikube) that reproduce production-like test scenarios.
Containerize and automate integration test pipelines using Docker.
Collaborate with runtime, compiler, and systems software teams to identify and close developer‑experience gaps.
