Job summary

Vector Atomic is building next-generation quantum devices for real-world applications. As a Senior Rust Software Engineer, you will lead the design of production Rust software and own system controllers on ARM SoCs, collaborating with physicists, electronics engineers, and firmware teams.

You will drive data acquisition pipelines, precision algorithms, and core quantum software infrastructure, while mentoring engineers in a fast-paced environment at our Pleasanton, CA site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must be US citizen or eligible for export control compliance.
• Laboratory hands-on work with hardware and test setups.
• Strong communication and collaboration across hardware and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead software architecture and design of high-performance Rust systems.
• Architect system controllers on ARM SoCs and develop user-space drivers.
• Implement and optimize critical control loops and precision algorithms.
• Collaborate with hardware teams on board bring-up and fault-tolerant systems.
• Oversee core software libraries for control and automation of quantum systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive process improvements.
