Job summary

Vector Atomic, an IonQ Company, builds next-generation quantum devices for GPS-free navigation, high-precision timing, and telecommunications. As a Senior Rust Software Engineer, you will lead production-quality Rust code on ARM SoCs, shaping the software strategy for our quantum instruments.

You will collaborate with physicists, electronics and firmware engineers to own controllers, data pipelines, and control algorithms from concept to deployment, and mentor junior engineers while driving

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with embedded or hardware-adjacent work.
• Willingness to work hands-on in a lab with hardware and test setups.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across hardware, software, and physics teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of production-quality software architectures in Rust.
• Architect and verify system controllers on ARM SoCs and robuts drivers for peripherals.
• Implement and optimize critical control loops and precision algorithms for quantum instruments.
• Partner with hardware teams on bring-up, fault-tolerant error handling, and testing.
• Oversee software libraries for control and automation of quantum systems.
• Mentor engineers and drive process improvements in development.
