Job summary

BSM ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (Electrical) to manage cost estimates, quotations, budgets, and tender submissions for building and M&E projects in Singapore. You will prepare Bills of Quantities, conduct cost analysis, evaluate supplier quotations, and handle commercial and contractual matters across electrical works.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in QS/Electrical QS, a relevant Diploma/Degree, and strong proficiency in cost

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of quantity surveying experience in electrical or M&E for Singapore projects.
• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings, cost estimation, tendering, variation claims, progress claims and final accounts.
• Familiar with Singapore contracts, commercial practices and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical cost estimates, quotations, budgets, and tender submissions for building and M&E projects.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities, quantity take-offs, measurements, and cost breakdowns for electrical works.
• Review tender drawings, specifications, and documents to identify scope, quantities, discrepancies and cost impacts.
• Source, review, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for electrical materials and installation works.
• Prepare tender comparisons and assist in supplier/subcontractor evaluation and selection.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and prepare progress claims and final accounts.
• Verify subcontractor and supplier claims against site progress and contractual requirements.
• Attend site meetings and conduct site measurements to verify completed electrical works.

About the role

This is a Quantity Surveyor (Electrical) role focused on managing electrical cost estimates, quotations, budgets, and tender submissions for building and M&E projects. You will prepare Bills of Quantities, conduct cost analysis, evaluate supplier quotations, monitor project costs against budgets, and manage commercial and contractual matters across electrical works.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical cost estimates, quotations, budgets, and tender submissions for building and M&E projects
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), quantity take-offs, measurements, and cost breakdowns for electrical works
• Review tender drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, quantities, discrepancies, and potential cost impacts
• Source, review, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for electrical materials, equipment, and installation works
• Prepare tender comparisons and assist in the evaluation and selection of competitive suppliers and subcontractors
• Monitor project costs and expenditure against approved budgets
• Prepare and evaluate progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts
• Verify subcontractor and supplier claims against actual site progress and contractual requirements
• Attend site meetings and conduct site measurements to verify completed electrical works
• Maintain proper records of contracts, quotations, purchase orders, claims, variations, and project costs

About you

• Minimum 5 years of relevant Quantity Surveying / Electrical QS experience in Singapore
• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
• Strong experience in electrical/M&E quantity surveying within Singapore construction projects
• Hands-on experience in electrical measurement, cost estimation, tender preparation, variation claims, progress claims, and final accounts
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Good knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, installation methods, and construction practices
• Familiarity with Singapore construction contracts, commercial practices, and relevant regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel; experience with QS/estimating software is an advantage
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams
