Sarasota Electric LLC is seeking an Electrical Estimator to lead the estimating process for large commercial and residential projects in Sarasota, FL. Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial and residential projects.
  • Develop complete takeoffs from plans and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals and clarify bid documents (RFIs).
  • Post-bid scope and pricing negotiations with value engineering as needed.
  • Work with vendors to obtain competitive material quotes and manage change orders.
  • Maintain organized bid documentation and track multiple projects concurrently.
  • Support Sales in bid strategy and customer communications.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and accurate tracking.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the electrical estimating process for large-scale construction projects, ensuring accurate cost projections and competitive pricing. Your expertise will drive project success from the initial bid through the final contract, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional electrical solutions on time and within budget. Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of electrical estimating experience
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Strong computer skills, including: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word BestBid & Intellibid
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication skills with internal teams and external clients
  • Proven experience with commercial and residential projects is preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial and residential projects
  • Develop complete and accurate takeoffs from project plans and specifications
  • Prepare detailed and professional bid proposals
  • Clarify bid documents and prepare Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Conduct post-bid follow-up, negotiate scope and pricing, and provide value engineering or scope modifications as needed
  • Work with vendors to obtain multiple competitive material quotes
  • Create, manage, and track change orders
  • Maintain well-organized and accurate bid documentation
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Estimate Development: Review blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, material, and labor estimates for
  • Quotations & Proposals: Generate professional, competitive proposals that meet customer requirements while supporting profitability and long-term partnerships
  • Vendor & Supplier Relations: Issue RFQs, secure competitive pricing, negotiate with suppliers, and recommend alternatives when appropriate
  • Customer Engagement: Work with Sales to strategize on bids, clarify requirements and support customers through the quoting process
  • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to optimize designs and reduce costs without sacrificing quality or performance
  • Tracking & Reporting: Maintain historical cost databases, supplier information, and ensure accurate documentation for all bids and proposals
