Job summary

Kanto Corporation is seeking a Director of Quality to lead QA, QC, and QMS for high-purity chemical manufacturing in Portland. You’ll guide strategic initiatives and hands-on improvements, embedding discipline and ensuring products meet exacting standards.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in quality within manufacturing, 5+ in leadership, and deep knowledge of ISO 9001, SEMI, NFPA, OSHA. You’ll coach teams, manage change, and drive a culture of excellence on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering/Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences (Master’s preferred).
• 12+ years of progressive quality experience in manufacturing/chemical processing; 5+ in leadership.
• Proven success in operational process standardization, QMS implementation, and change leadership.
• Deep understanding of ISO 9001, SEMI standards, NFPA codes, OSHA requirements, and cleanroom protocols.
• Collaborative leadership with exceptional communication skills.
• Ownership of a growth mindset and a “startup” mentality.
• Preferred: ISO, Lean, Six Sigma, regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA, QC, and QMS functions across high-purity chemical manufacturing.
• Establish and maintain an audit-ready Quality Management System.
• Drive change management initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, SEMI, NFPA, OSHA, and related standards.
