Job summary

Kinexus Group is seeking an experienced Monitoring and Training Coordinator to advance employee skills through compliance assessments and targeted training development across Michigan works initiatives.

Under the EVP, Workforce, this role will identify strengths and weaknesses in service operations, coordinate training with operational leaders, and minimize organizational risk while promoting staff growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, human services, pre-law, accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Workforce Development and/or quality assurance experience.
  • Prior experience in project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Effective presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, scope and prioritize the annual compliance monitoring calendar in collaboration with leadership.
  • Maintain documentation to support compliance and monitoring findings, making it accessible on request.
  • Create monitoring guides and templates for compliance reviews.
  • Perform at least one program review annually, produce a report, and work with staff on training and corrective actions.
  • Support PATH data verification and PATH internal controls and case reviews, reporting to state authorities.
  • Provide written reports to identify root causes of violations and corrective actions.
  • Meet with operational leaders to address noncompliance and develop improvement plans.
  • Stay current with state/federal regulations related to funding programs and maintain SharePoint compliance resources.
  • Assist staff with external monitoring preparation, including guides and documents.
  • Lead corrective action responses and develop training strategies aligned with policies and regulatory standards.

OUR TEAM:

Kinexus Group is looking for an experienced monitoring and training coordinator to help our employees across our subsidiaries advance their skills and knowledge. This will be accomplished through compliance assessments with applicable laws and regulations, internal processes and policy and grant compliance identifying areas of improvement or training needs. Once training and development needs are identified this role will put strategies into place with our operational leaders to help our people grow and develop. Excellent communication skills are essential. Ultimately, you will help Kinexus Group succeed by identifying areas of risk during monitoring and providing the training and development needed for professional growth.

OUR DESIRED OUTCOMES:

Under the general direction of the Executive Vice President, Workforce, the Quality & Training Manager will be primarily responsible for monitoring and follow-up staff development identified to ensure the integrity of all Michigan Works service delivery. This includes the identification of areas of strength and weakness in service operations and enhancing staff understanding via training development, ultimately minimizing risk and reducing organizational liability. The Quality & Training Manager will work with a variety of operational leaders to ensure training needs identified from monitoring are corrected.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Works closely with the Executive Vice President, Workforce on the development, scoping and prioritization of the annual compliance monitoring calendar.
  • Responsible for Internal Monitoring, including but not limited to:
    • Maintaining documentation to support compliance, monitoring findings and observations. Documentation is organized and available upon Federal, State or Leadership requests.
    • Develop monitoring guides, desk review formats and related templates for use in compliance reviews.
    • Performing at least one review of each program annually, producing a report, working with operational staff to delivery staff training and performing corrective action follow-up, if applicable.
  • Support the PATH team with monthly PATH Data Verification – report to the State
  • Support the PATH team with semi-Annual PATH Internal Controls – report to the State
  • Support the PATH team with semi-Annual FAET Case Review – report to the State
  • Provides written reports submitted to Manager, Risk Management that identify the “root cause” of identified violations of regulation or policy/procedure with documented corrective action requirements.
  • Meets with operational leaders to assist and develop plans to address noncompliance
  • Remains up to date with current in state/federal/local policies and regulations related to all federal, state and other applicable programs in support of all funding sources.
  • Maintains the SharePoint Compliance page as a resource to staff.
  • Supports staff for external monitoring – guides, pre-visit documents, interviews, file preparation.
  • Leads corrective action responses, if needed.
  • Leads the development and implementation of compliance-focused training strategies aligned with workforce policies, grant requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Assess organizational training needs and deliver targeted learning solutions (e-learning, workshops, coaching) to strengthen staff capacity in program and policy compliance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, human services, pre-law or accounting or the equivalent combination of training and/or experience
  • Workforce Development and/or quality assurance experience
  • Prior experience in project management
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Effective Presentation skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Research, evaluation, statistical preparation and program compliance
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
