Position Overview: Quality Team Coordinator
This role supports the internal quality team, focusing on metrology and supplier incoming quality. The primary responsibility is to facilitate and coordinate nonconformance investigations, process change notifications (PCNs), and deviations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review nonconformance reports and assess parts against drawings.
- Perform minor measurements and document findings.
- Coordinate with quality engineers to determine next steps: rework, deviation, or PCN.
- Track and follow up on open items to ensure timely resolution.
- Act as a liaison between shop floor teams and engineering/product management.
- Respond to real-time issues on the shop floor and initiate new PCNs/deviations.
Daily Workflow
- Review queue of open PCNs/deviations.
- Follow up with stakeholders to ensure progress.
- Visit shop floor to investigate new issues.
- Take measurements/photos and compile documentation.
- Communicate findings to design engineers, product managers, and operations leaders.
- Training: Day shift (2.5 to 5 months depending on candidate).
- Post-training: Second shift (2 PM to 11 PM).
- Second shift role includes being the primary point of contact for quality coordination.
- Education: Mechanical Engineering preferred (Electrical acceptable).
- Experience: Quality Engineering or similar roles in automotive, heavy machinery, or manufacturing.
