Job summary

Jabil in Florence, KY is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician III to ensure products meet quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation.

You will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections, document results, support root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality and processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and quality tools (8D, FMEA, SPC).
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections according to specifications and control plans.
• Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers and CMM equipment.
• Document inspection results including non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials; track dispositions.
• Assist root cause analysis and CAPA implementations.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and calendars.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues.
• Contribute to quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement within quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Location/Division Specific Information

• Schedule: Sunday - Tuesday and every other Wednesday
• Hours: Shift A | 5:30AM - 5:00PM EST
• Compensation: Hourly

How will you make an impact?

As a Quality Engineering Technician III with Jabil, you will ensure products and processes meet established quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

What will you do?

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to specifications and control plans
• Conduct various quality tests using precision measuring instruments and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators)
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non-conformances and corrective actions
• Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials; initiate and track disposition activities
• Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to calibration schedules
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality
• Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the quality department
• Other duties as they may be assigned

How will you get here?

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Experience with various precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators)
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
