Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician III in Florence, KY, to ensure products and processes meet quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation. You will support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams.

This role requires 3+ years in QA in manufacturing, strong measurement skills, and familiarity with ISO 9001 and CAPA processes. On-site schedule with day shifts and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a quality control/quality assurance role in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality tools (8D, FMEA, SPC).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections per specifications and control plans.
• Conduct tests using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
• Document inspection results, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials; track disposition.
• Assist in root cause analysis and CAPA activities.
• Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment; follow calibration schedules.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues.
• Contribute to quality procedures and work instructions; support lean initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

How will you make an impact?

As a Quality Engineering Technician III with Jabil, you will ensure products and processes meet established quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

What will you do?

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to specifications and control plans
• Conduct various quality tests using precision measuring instruments and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators)
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non-conformances and corrective actions
• Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials; initiate and track disposition activities
• Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to calibration schedules
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality
• Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the quality department
• Other duties as they may be assigned

How will you get here?

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Experience with various precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators)
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
