Job summary

Hendrickson is seeking an experienced Quality professional to oversee fabrication, machining and assembly quality processes. The role focuses on defining quality requirements, using PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and basic statistics to drive continuous improvement.

You will interact with suppliers and customers on quality issues and support IATF 16949 compliance. Responsibilities include corrective actions, MRB handling, APQP support, and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in manufacturing quality environment.
  • PPAP/Customer experience in Tier One automotive sector.
  • Experience with IATF 16949 auditing methodology.
  • Experience developing PPAPs, Control Plans, FMEAs, flow charts, sampling and basic statistics.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading and inspection techniques.
  • Able to audit quality systems/processes independently.
  • Excellent communication with internal/external customers.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/assist QA to define quality requirements from prints and specs.
  • Use quality tools to improve quality and adjust inspection frequencies.
  • Assist inspectors with daily product verification.
  • Lead/assist root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support IATF 16949 document and data control.
  • Interact with suppliers and customers on quality issues.
  • Submit RMA/RMR corrective actions and sample submissions.
  • Coordinate supplier PPAP submissions for production parts.
  • Request supplier corrective actions and track follow-ups.
  • Manage the MRB area.
  • Support auditing for IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Lead containment of suspect product.
  • Improve plant PPM through error-proofing and CI.
  • Support APQP launches under Quality Manager.
  • Review Quality Policy with new hires.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Purpose:

Oversee and maintain quality processes for fabrication, machining and/or assembly of suspensions and suspension components for the facility.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead/ Assist the Manufacturing Floor in determining quality requirements from prints, published specifications, and establishing standards where no product or vague specification exists.
  • Utilize Quality tools (Capability Studies, Basic Statistics, Control Charts and Sampling) to improve Quality and adjust inspection frequencies as needed.
  • Assist Inspectors as needed to perform daily product verification.
  • Lead/Assist Root Cause analysis with assigned Corrective Action personnel and provides closure to action items with Corrective Action follow up.
  • Supports the Quality Manager on IATF 16949 Document and Data Control
  • Interact with Suppliers and Customers on Quality Issues.
  • Submit RMA & RMR Corrective Action Responses and Sample Submissions as required by the supplier and customer.
  • Coordinate Supplier PPAP submissions as preparation to use parts in Production.
  • Request Supplier corrective actions and maintain follow up activities under the direction of the Quality Manager
  • Manages the MRB Area
  • Support systems to support IATF 16949 compliance activities through auditing.
  • Lead/Direct Suspect Product Containment Activities.
  • Lead improvements in plant PPM measures through error proofing and participating in continuous improvement activities.
  • Support APQP launch initiatives through the direction of the Quality Manager.
  • Understand the Quality Policy and review with new hires in the orientation process.
  • Some travel may be required (planned and in emergency situations).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain ASQ Certification as a Certified Technician (See brief description of the ASQ body of knowledge on next page) Further clarification is provided in the Certified Technician Certification Book
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 plus years of experience in manufacturing quality environment required.
  • PPAP/Customer experience with a Tier One automotive sector required.
  • Experience in supporting IATF 16949 auditing methodology required as it pertains to Quality Systems
  • Experience in developing PPAP's, Control Plans, FMEA's, Flow Charts, Sampling and Basic Statistics, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, Knowledge of Inspection Techniques, Preventive and Corrective Actions
  • Experience with processes (machining, welding, forming, assembly), and products preferred.
  • Ability to audit Quality Systems/processes independent of others.
  • Ability to problem solve and use quality hand measurement tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work with others in a team/customer environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible work schedules.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite, less Access.
