Job summary

Libra Industries is seeking a Quality Tech to support the Quality Manager in planning, coordinating and directing quality control programs ensuring products meet established standards. The role involves data analysis, inspection criteria development, and collaboration with production and suppliers to improve reliability.

The ideal candidate has GD&T knowledge, basic inspection tool experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Print Reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge required.
  • Experience with basic inspection hand tools (micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, height gauges) preferred.
  • Time management skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Detail-oriented and self-starting with ability to coordinate multiple systems and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and analyzing statistical data and product specifications to establish standards and reliability.
  • Help formulate quality control objectives aligned with corporate policies and goals.
  • Assist supplier qualification and audits.
  • Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to personnel across the organization.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures to maximize reliability and minimize costs.
  • Provide documentation for inspection activity throughout production.
  • Apply total quality management tools in analytical and reporting processes.
  • Participate in quality management teams within the organization.
  • Design and implement quality control training programs with managers.
  • Investigate customer quality complaints and resolve through MRB processes.

Primary Function Of Position

Assists the Quality Manager and quality engineers in planning, coordinating, executing, and directing quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties.

JOB TITLE: Quality Tech

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager

Description Of Duties
  • Helps develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of the finished product.
  • It helps formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • May assist the Supplier Quality Engineer in supplier qualification and auditing.
  • Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
  • Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other Plant Managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Provides documentation for inspection activity for products throughout the production cycle.
  • Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.
  • Plays an active role in quality management teams within the organization.
  • Designs and implements quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates customer complaints regarding quality
  • Assists the Quality Manager or Quality Engineer in resolving exception issues identified by production and inspection by verfifying customer requirements and other needed documentation. Exception outcomes will be documented per company policy. This includes participation in the Material Review Board (MRB) in accordance with non-conforming product policy.
  • Other duties as prescribed by the Quality Manager
Skills / Experience Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience preferred of related experience
  • ASQ Greenbelt or equivalent
  • ASME GD&T Technologist or equivalent preferred
  • Knowlage of practical application of statistical methods, SPC, Control Plans, and Problem-solving methods, such as 8-D and 5-Why.
  • CMM operation experience Preferred
  • A strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry
  • ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 experience preferred
  • Compenency in Microsoft Office tools and other computer applications
Education / Experience Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Print Reading / Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with basic inspection hand tools (including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, height gauges with indicators)
  • Time Management
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Self-Starting able to coordinate maintaining of systems and to do lists while maintaining flexibility for the fast-paced environment. (project management skills)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight.
  • You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
