Job summary

Marvin in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Quality Technician I to assist the Quality department in ensuring adherence to standards on production lines. You will monitor products, troubleshoot quality issues, and provide feedback to supervisors on quality concerns.

Role requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent, proficiency with measurement tools, and strong math/communication skills. The position includes a 3-shift differential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and/or equivalent experience/training required.
• Proficient in measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measures, etc.).
• Excellent shop math skills (integers, fractions, decimals).
• Able to analyze and interpret drawings, charts and specifications.
• Demonstrated problem solving, strong communication, multi-tasking.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and internal production software.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot assembly process areas with quality issues.
• Inspect, test, and measure materials and products to specs.
• Analyze prints, manuals, and data to determine specifications.
• Record data and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Communicate non-conforming material rejections to Supervisors/Purchasing.
• Mentor Production Associates and Quality Auditors on standards and best practices.
• Assist in assigning tasks to Quality Auditors as needed.
• Conduct inspections on first articles and incoming materials.

Job Overview

The Quality Technician Iis responsible forassistingthe Quality department to meet and exceed company goals. In this position you will beresponsible forensuring that all quality standards are being followed by employees on the production lines and troubleshoot any areas of the assembly process where a quality issue occurs.This position willmonitorproducts produced on the production line and provide feedback to supervisors on quality issues.

Shift Schedule:

Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm

• Troubleshoot areas of the assembly process where quality issues occur.
• Inspect, test, and measure materials and products for conformance to specifications.
• Analyze and interpret prints, manuals, and data todeterminespecifications.
• Record and analyze data;maintainaccuratedocumentation and reports.
• Document and communicate non-conforming material rejections to Supervisors and Purchasing/Materials teams.
• Mentor Production Associates and Quality Auditors on quality standards and best practices.
• Assistin assigning tasks to Quality Auditors as needed.
• Conduct inspections on first articles, incoming materials, and other parts asrequested.
• Observe andmonitorproduction operations, jigs, and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Investigate quality concerns todetermineroot cause and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform product repairs when necessary.

• Associate’s degree and/or equivalent experience/training arerequired
• Rolerequiresthe proficient in the use of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures, pin gages, feeler gages, measurement probe, and optical comparator
• Requires excellent shop math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals)
• Must be able to analyze and interpret drawings,chartsand specifications
• Demonstrated problem solving ability,strong communicationskills and the ability to multi-task and work efficiently/in a well-organized manner arerequired
• Strong communicationskills (oral and written) are necessary
• Familiarity with computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and internal production software isrequired

Compensation

Starting at $24/hr, based on experience + $3 shift differential
