Job summary

Benchmark is seeking a Quality Technician to verify manufacturing processes, ensure adherence to specifications, and collect data for quality assurance. You will support inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across our Rochester, MN operations.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication while working with engineers to optimize procedures and maintain quality standards. Safety and compliance are integral to daily tasks.

Qualifications

• 2 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Completes the Quality section of the Manufacturing Readiness Review.
• Implements Quality Management Plans.
• Monitors process control limits.
• Assists product engineers in the maintenance of inspection procedures, audits and stock/floor purges.
• Assists with operations on process improvements and process optimization.
• Assists Engineering in the generation of weekly and monthly inspection and test reports for Business Units.
• Reviews inspection and test reports for areas of process improvement.
• Performs preventive maintenance (PM) equipment and process/equipment troubleshooting
• Inspects, measures, and tests mechanical, electrical and electromechanical components and assemblies
• Verifies material conformance to specifications. Interprets company and industrial specifications.
• Gathers and maintains specific records of technical data related to materials, tools, fixtures and processes used in company
• Creates and maintains inspection plans, logs and reports
• Compiles reports using information gathered from quality, manufacturing and research projects
• Develops measurement processes
• Collects and analyzes data using statistical analysis methods
• Communicates quality data to employees and management
• Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally
• Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
• Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
