Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc. in Winona, MN is seeking a materials quality professional to support senior technicians and engineers. You will ensure components meet requirements, analyze suspect materials, and develop inspection tests and procedures to improve supplier performance.

You will coordinate stock purges, identify second sources, and report metrics while driving continuous improvement and acting as a technical resource across manufacturing and design teams. The role is on-site, full-time.

Qualifications

• 2 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience; ASQ certification preferred.
• 3+ years in a leadership role; ASQ certification.
• Ability to provide various levels of engineer quality work.
• Ability to lead problem solving teams, both internal and external.
• Knowledgeable in ERP and related computer-based applications.
• Participate in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Supplier Development Engineers, Material Quality Engineers and Incoming Inspectors (Examples: First Article, Process Capability (Cpk)).
• Analyze, disposition and facilitate transaction of suspect/nonconforming materials.
• Develop Incoming Inspection tests and inspection procedures.
• Coordinate stock purges/sort/rework of suspect/nonconforming materials.
• Locate second sources for components.
• Report metrics as directed.
• Initiate actions to facilitate continuous improvement.
• Act as technical resource to manufacturing and design within Commodity or customer group.
