Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Experienced Quality Tech for a top-tier manufacturing company in South Bend, Indiana. You will perform in-process inspections, first article inspections, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and gauges to ensure products meet tight tolerances.

You will analyze inspection data, maintain quality records, and assist with corrective and preventive actions, control plans, and audits.

Qualifications

• Must be mobile to walk hourly to verify operator quality checks.
• Experience with Roving Inspection Arm, Keyence 3D and CMM a plus.
• Experience with Mics, Height Gauges a must; GD&T reading a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections, FAI, and final inspections using measurement tools.
• Analyze inspection data, maintain quality records, and prepare reports.
• Identify, document, and drive root cause investigations for defects and deviations.
• Work with production teams to implement CAPA and corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining control plans and quality procedures.
• Support internal and external audits and use SPC tools to monitor process stability.

Job Details

• Perform in-process inspections, first article inspections (FAI), and final inspections of components or assemblies, using measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges, etc.).
• Analyze inspection data, maintain quality records, and prepare reports on quality audits, trends, and nonconformances.
• Identify, document, and help drive root cause investigations for defects, nonconformances, and process deviations.
• Work with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Assist in developing and maintaining control plans, inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality checklists.
• Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer, supplier audits), ensuring compliance with standards and requirements.
• Use statistical process control (SPC) tools, capability studies, measurement system analysis (MSA), and other quality tools to monitor and improve process stability.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects (lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to reduce scrap, rework, and cost, and improve throughput and yield.
• Support supplier quality assurance, including incoming inspection, supplier audits, and corrective actions for supplier nonconformances.
• Provide training and coaching to technicians/operators on inspection methods, quality awareness, and defect prevention.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be mobile to walk hourly to verify operator quality checks
• Experience with Roving Inspection Arm, Keyonce 3D and CMM a plus
• Experience with Mics, Heith Gages a must.
• Ability to read and interpret prints a must. GD&T experience a plus
