Job summary

Job Details

Position Summary

  • Lead, support, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives within a machine shop manufacturing environment
  • Partner closely with manufacturing teams to identify quality issues and implement effective corrective actions
  • Utilize statistical tools and structured problem-solving methodologies to improve product and process quality
  • Own area-level quality metrics, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Monitor critical process parameters to ensure ongoing compliance and stability
  • Serve as a daily quality resource for operators and supervisors, promoting a team-based approach to improvement
  • Conduct internal audits and provide oversight and training on quality systems and processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze process capability studies and collaborate with operators and department teams to address performance concerns
  • Coordinate, perform, and evaluate Gage R&R studies and support improvement efforts when gaps are identified
  • Issue corrective action requests (CARs) and guide teams through root cause and corrective action investigations
  • Schedule and lead deep-dive investigations related to significant scrap or quality events
  • Perform internal quality audits to ensure compliance with procedures and standards
  • Review DMR benches daily to verify required signatures and identify potential issues
  • Engage with employees on the shop floor to address quality concerns and reinforce quality expectations
  • Analyze scrap and rework data and communicate trends and findings to cross-functional teams
  • Support the development of presentations and materials for Quality Steering Committee meetings
  • Schedule and facilitate department meetings to review CARs, scrap, rework, A3s, and ongoing quality initiatives

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, along with ASQ certifications and prior aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Alternatively, an associate degree with demonstrated experience in a machine shop environment is required

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and daily activities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with teams
