Brunswick Corporation’s Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is hiring a Quality Technician - Assembly (2nd Shift). You will uphold quality systems, inspect parts, and collaborate with engineers to minimize variation in outboard assembly lines.

The role emphasizes hands-on measurement, problem solving, and adherence to ISO and internal quality standards. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and an associate degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 3+ years in complex assembly operations.
• Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving ability.
• Detail oriented with attention to specifications.
• Basic math and statistics skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Knowledge of inspection techniques and tolerances.
• Ability to guide supervision in decisions regarding product and process control.
• Flexible with extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Reduce process or product variation using lab instruments and root cause analysis.
• Lead or assist in corrective action requests and DFMEA adoption.
• Read engineering drawings, understand tolerances and features.
• Perform basic dimensional inspections with calipers and micrometers.
• Recommend design changes or improvements via FMEA and controls.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to train and mentor.
• Support non-conforming material handling and scrap reduction.
• Organize quality alerts and investigate deviations.
• Communicate quality standards on the line and in toolbox meetings.
• Document issues in shift notes and hand-offs; ensure safety.
