Olympic Steel is seeking a Quality Technician to conduct routine tests and inspections of products, supporting the QA Manager with data collection and analysis. The role involves capability studies, first-piece inspections, and maintaining records to ensure ISO compliance.

The position emphasizes training, cross-department collaboration, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to deliver high-quality results across manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or commensurate experience in a related field required.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
• Blueprint reading skills strongly preferred.
• ERP knowledge required; Microsoft AX preferred.
• Experience operating Faro equipment, CAD/CAM, and tooling design preferred.
• Previous experience in CNC/Press Brake/Oxy-Fuel machining strongly preferred.
• PPAP/APQP experience also preferred.

Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting routine tests and inspections on products, assisting the Quality Assurance Manager with data collection. The technician performs capability studies, first-piece inspections & records results, as well as assisting with ISO compliance and training. The Quality Technician participates in special projects as needed and works with other departments to ensure a quality product.
