Job summary

Olympic Steel, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician Sr. to conduct routine tests and inspections, assist the QA Manager with data collection and supplier claims, and support ISO compliance.

You will perform capability studies, first-piece inspections, and maintain records while collaborating with production to ensure inbound material accuracy and outbound product quality. This role requires reading blueprints, using calipers and micrometers, and reading tape measures, with experience in ERP

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, further education preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings.
• Experience with calipers, micrometers and ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
• Working knowledge of both Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Experience with various computer systems, including ERP Systems or online quality systems.
• Previous experience in metal or steel preferred.

Job Description

The Quality Technician Sr. is responsible for conducting routine tests and inspections on products, assisting the Quality Assurance Manager with data collection & supplier claims. The technician performs capability studies, first-piece inspections & records results, as well as assisting with ISO compliance and training. The Technician will work closely with our production employees to ensure that inbound material is correct, and that all outbound products meet quality standards. The Quality Technician participates in special projects as needed and works with other departments to ensure a quality product.
