Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Quality Technician to support product and process quality through inspection, measurement, documentation, and problem-solving. You will perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections to ensure parts meet drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

This role supports CAPA, non-conformance containment, and continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will work onsite at Gardner Denver, performing First Article and receiving inspections, and maintain

Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ years of quality inspection experience in machining/manufacturing.
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation of drawings/specifications.
  • Ability to select and use precision measurement devices.
  • Ability to read CMM reports and validate measurements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accurate quality documentation.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and fluids.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections per drawings and work instructions.
  • Accurately measure parts, interpret CMM reports, and validate measurements.
  • Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) and receiving inspections.
  • Identify non-conforming material and initiate containment actions.
  • Participate in CAPA and structured problem-solving activities.
  • Follow SPIs and Standard Work for quality requirements.
  • Support Lean initiatives and departmental quality projects.
  • Maintain safety focus and assist with other duties as needed.

Job Overview

The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting product and process quality through accurate inspection, measurement, documentation, and problem-solving activities. This position performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections to ensure products meet established drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality standards. The Quality Technician will support non-conformance containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of parts and products according to drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Accurately measure parts, interpret CMM reports, and validate questionable or suspect measurements.
  • Complete First Article Inspections (FAI), receiving inspections, and other required product or process inspections.
  • Identify non-conforming material and initiate appropriate containment activities to prevent further processing or shipment.
  • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and structured problem-solving activities.
  • Perform all quality activities in accordance with established Standard Process Instructions (SPIs), Standard Work, and company quality requirements.
  • Support Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, and departmental quality projects.
  • Maintain a strong safety focus, follow all safety requirements, and perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of related quality inspection experience in a fast-paced machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills, including drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to select and properly use appropriate precision measurement and inspection devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret CMM reports and validate measurement results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to accurately complete inspection and quality documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. repetitively and stand or walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently grasp and handle parts and perform physical activities including reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as required.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment, machining oils/coolants, varying temperatures and humidity, and noise levels that may range from 75-87 dBA; requires close visual acuity for drawings, measurements, inspection documents, and computer screens
