Job summary

Ingersoll Rand’s Sedalia, MO facility is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure products meet stringent quality standards and to drive corrective actions. You will lead root cause analyses, partner with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and other teams to strengthen reliability and reduce defects across global products.

The role emphasizes documenting processes, maintaining ISO-compliant procedures, and supporting audits, with extensive interaction across multiple departments and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant quality experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years experience with MS Office Suite, to include intermediate Excel skills
  • 1+ year of experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Process Development and Improvement: Develop, implement, and document process improvements to ensure quality and reliability. Quality project lead representative, as assigned, for new product introductions. Identifies production concerns and take proactive steps to correct problems.
  • Documentation: Initiates and maintains documentation as needed to support process and manufacturing improvements (i.e. Process Control, Inspection logs, Visual Work Instructions, ECN's)
  • Quality: Develops and maintains all departmental procedures supporting and maintaining ISO certification. Participate in internal and external periodic plant audits. Support plant internal corrective actions.
  • Suppliers: Respond/ investigate quality related issues found on the production floor, or at the customer's location. Communicate with suppliers on non-conforming material, and issue/ manage supplier corrective actions as necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or directed.

Job Overview

Step into a Quality Engineer role with Gardner Denver – Industrial Technology and Services, LLC, a division of Ingersoll Rand, where your work directly impacts product performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence at our Sedalia operation. You’ll help ensure products meet exacting quality standards while supporting the transformation of metal castings and raw materials into high-performing products used around the world. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll serve as a key problem-solving partner across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, customer service, warranty, and purchasing. Using the plant Quality Management System, you’ll respond to quality issues, lead root cause analysis, identify risks, and drive corrective and preventive actions that strengthen product reliability, reduce defects, and support continuous improvement across the plant.

  • Experience identifying production concerns, developing and documenting process improvements, and partnering with manufacturing teams to strengthen quality, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration
  • Ability to work effectively with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, customer service, warranty, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns, manage supplier corrective actions, and ensure customer quality requirements are met.
  • Documentation, Data & Systems Proficiency
  • Strong ability to create, maintain, and manage quality-related documentation, including process controls, inspection logs, visual work instructions, ECNs, and corrective action records, while utilizing MS Office, Excel, and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar platforms.
Preferences
  • Bachelors Degree or some college with relevant quality engineering experience
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • ASQ certification (e.g., CQT, CQE, CQM, or CRE)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Travel and Work Arrangements
  • This is base onsite in Sedalia, MO
  • Travel anticipated is less than 10%
