Norton Rixson Door Controls is seeking a Quality Technician to protect product quality and efficiency. The role handles returned door hardware, logs items in the ERP system, and collaborates with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to determine disposition like restock, rework, or scrap.
The position performs routine shop floor inspections to verify material identification, finishes, and SKU segregation, and supports CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce returns and defects.
Position Summary The Quality Technician plays a critical role in protecting product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for managing all returned door hardware products and components while performing routine shop floor inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager and supports manufacturing and distribution of door hardware products by ensuring accurate disposition of returns and consistent shop floor controls.
Associate degree or relevant technical training is preferred. 2+ years of experience in door hardware manufacturing, assembly, warehouse operations, or quality-related roles. Familiarity with door hardware products is strongly preferred. Experience in handling RMAs, nonconforming material, or warranty returns. Working knowledge of ERP or inventory management systems. Strong attention to detail, especially with part configurations and finishes. Effective communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently on the shop floor and in warehouse environments.
Ability to walk and inspect the shop floor for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally Use of PPE as required (safety shoes, gloves, eye protection).
