Job summary

Qualifications

  • Education: HS diploma or GED with 1 year related experience in an ASSA ABLOY assembly line or equivalent.
  • Computer skills: ability to use a computerized workstation and MS Windows environment.
  • Language: ability to read/write/speak English.
  • Quality: align practices with ISO requirements.
  • Other skills: teamwork with LifeSafety Power departments; strong organization and communication; ability to work independently.
  • Math: basic arithmetic.
  • Reasoning: solve practical problems with limited standardization.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Quality Assurance Inspector in Assembly is responsible for ensuring that assembled products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting components and finished assemblies, identifying defects or deviations, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues. The inspector plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, customer satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform spot checks to ensure that the production assembly adheres to established quality procedures.
  • Communicate with manufacturing assistants regarding any quality concerns that may arise.
  • Report relevant quality issues to the quality management team.
  • Conduct final inspections on all units assembled by the production team.
  • Capture photographs for the purpose of updating factory documentation for each model.
  • Monitor email for correspondence from the quality management team.
  • Ensure that quality issues are recorded in Smartsheet.
  • Other duties and specific responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training in an ASSA ABLOY assembly line; or basic knowledge of ASSA ABLOY products; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use a computerized workstation and perform simple functions within an MS Windows environment.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to write correspondences in English. Ability to speak effectively with employees within our organization and at times with customer representatives.
  • Quality Commitment: Assist the organization with establishing practices that align with ISO requirements.
  • Other Skills: Able to work and interface with other LifeSafety Power departments. Must have good organizational skills and communication skills. Capable of working efficiently to meet customer requirements. Ability to operate independently without daily supervision.
  • Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
