Position Overview:

As part of the talented Quality team, your primary responsibility will be to charge and discharge batteries in assigned product families. This includes setup programming, repackaging stage batteries for charging, and documenting collaboration with other team members in quality, engineering, production, and service departments when further containment and/or Corrective and Preventative Action is needed.

This position will be on second shift with the schedule being Monday – Friday, 2pm – 10:30pm.

  • Charge, evaluate, and setup batteries for charging; document and disposition of charged batteries.
  • Determine disposition of items into categories such as: repacking, remanufacturing, repair, and recycle.
  • Record recharge dates and communicate findings.
  • Work with engineering product management and quality manager to address quality concerns and trending issues.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other duties assigned by quality management.

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  • DC electrical experience, primarily with DC electrical and battery connections.
  • Ability to use different electrical hand tools and meters (e.g., multimeters, calipers, crimpers).
  • Ability to make decisions on product based on safety, environmental, and financial considerations.
  • Strong communication skills needed, especially across shifts.
  • This individual must have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of employees to meet departmental and company goals.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and inventory monitoring software.
  • A working knowledge of quality recording and reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • Some secondary education/experience in a technical program or related field is a plus.
  • Certifications in circuit board, electrical, and electronic device evaluation are a plus.
  • Marine/RV battery electrical experience is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an electrical manufacturing, warranty, or quality environment.
  • Personal accountability/ownership mentality.
  • Function as a role model by displaying good judgment and integrity.
  • Respect for others; must have strong people skills and the ability to work with many types of people.
  • Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height.
  • Understand electrical safety while using and applying electricity.
  • Battery handling safety, including use and care of lithium-ion batteries, is a plus.
  • This position will work in a lab environment, at a stand-up bench.
