Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions in Lemoore, CA is seeking a contract NDT Quality Test Specialist (CU) with a background in Aircraft Structures and Non-Destructive Testing. The role supports field operations quality management and regulatory compliance on Boeing projects.

You will perform Eddy current testing (ECT) and MAUS inspections, conduct RCCA/CAPA, and document results. Travel up to 25% and variable shifts are required; US citizenship for security clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
• Ability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide assurance of the Field Operations QMS and support related processes.
• Set up for Eddy current testing (ECT) and MAUS inspections.
• Perform audits per 4790.2 NAMP and assist in regulatory compliance.
• Develop procedures with other functions to ensure compliance.
• Conduct RCCA and CAPA activities.
• Support safety/quality investigations as directed by leadership.
• Enter non-conformance data into Boeing software tools.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives.
• Assist with metrics development and present them in meetings.
• Document procedures for test equipment setup.
• Analyze routine test data for conformity and corrective actions.
• Communicate test results and potential trends.

Position Responsibilities

• Providing assurance of the Field Operations QMS and its related processes through active engagement with other functions supporting aircraft maintenance activities.
• Performs setup for specialized non-destructive Eddy current testing (ECT), and Mobile Automated Scanner System (MAUS) inspections utilizing test or measurement equipment to controlled standards.
• Performance of audits referenced by 4790.2 Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) aviation maintenance programs.
• Supporting colleagues within other functions with development of processes / procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to Boeing Pols/Pros.
• Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA).
• Supporting Safety / Quality investigations (as directed by Lead / Manager).
• Non-Conformance Management and inputting data into Boeing software tools.
• Active participation within Continuous Improvement / Lean initiatives.
• Assist with metrics development supporting the wider Field Operations QMS.
• Attend required meetings and present associated metrics for review.
• Assists in the documentation of procedures for setting up test equipment.
• Analyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity Assists with standard corrective action recommendations.
• Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results.
• Reports potential adverse trends or anomalous results.

Security Clearance And Export Control Requirements

• This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A U.S. secret clearance required to start

Required Skills

• Certified NAS 410 Eddy current testing (ECT).
• An understanding and previous experience of AS9100 Quality Assurance Management system.
• 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Capable of traveling on an as needed basis (up to 25% of the time).
• Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and workload.
• 5+ years of experience with NDT Quality Testing.

Preferred Skills

• An AA degree in related NDT discipline and typically 5 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• experience in aircraft heavy maintenance.
• 5+ years’ experience maintaining F/A-18E/F, Aircraft Logs, and Records Books IAW 4790.2.
• 5+ years’ experience with COMNAVAIRINST 4790.2 Series quality assurance programs such as FOD and Tool Control.
• 5+ years of experience working with composites and non-porous metals, such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless.
• 5+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, engineering drawings and standard operating procedures.
• 5+ years of experience using structures hand tools such as: drills 45 and 90 degrees, pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.
• 5+ years of experience working heavy structures: locating, drilling, countersinking and fastening structures (i.e. doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.) to aircraft.
• Certified NAS 410 Mobile Automated Scanner System (MAUS).

Pay Rate Range

48 - 53 USD hourly
