Job summary

Boeing is seeking a contract assembly technician for a 100% onsite assignment in Smithfield, PA. The role focuses on routine production assembly of structural and mechanical components, with strict adherence to established procedures and quality standards.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of manufacturing/assembly experience, including drawing literacy and use of production tools. Willingness to work any shift is required.

Job description

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Position Responsibilities
  • Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Candidates must be willing to work any shift.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 + years’ experience reading, understanding, engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment where compliance is critical
  • 1+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with fabrication and/or assembly of mechanical or electrical systems utilizing production industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 1 + year of experience working with specialized tools (e.g., electrical and mechanical wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, accessing computer files, multimeters)
  • Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, and engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data)
  • Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements. Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and reproducibility requirements are met
  • Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School Diploma/GED).
