Job summary

Idaho Department of Health & Welfare seeks a Quality Systems Analyst 3 in Boise to strengthen QA/QI activities in the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories. You will coordinate quality assurance, maintain records, and support certification compliance in a multi-disciplinary setting.

The ideal candidate has lab experience, data management skills, and knowledge of environmental regulations. This full-time role requires on-site work and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in physical/biological sciences or related field or equivalent combination.
  • At least four years' experience managing environmental/regulatory programs with tasks like planning and analysis.
  • Master's degree plus two years' experience in environmental projects is acceptable.
  • Demonstrated computer software experience (SharePoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience in a laboratory environment and ability to translate technical information.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate quality assurance and quality improvement activities with lab leadership.
  • Monitor data quality, organize records, and support LIMS administration.
  • Assist with audits to ensure certification and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop laboratory operations metrics and data dashboards.
  • Track non-conforming events and coordinate resolutions.

The Idaho Bureau of Laboratories is seeking to fill a full-time permanent position for aQuality Systems Analyst 3inBoise.We are seeking a candidate who excels in a multi-disciplinary team environment and can balance a workload while coordinating several priorities. This position works with laboratory leadership to enhance and support quality assurance and quality improvement activities at the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories. This position provides critical coordination efforts to ensure that laboratory certification requirements are met. This position will monitor data quality, organize and maintain laboratory records, and work as a laboratory information system database administrator. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of clinical and/or environmental laboratory regulations, practical laboratory bench experience, and familiarity with relational databases and data management practices.

This position is not eligible for telework.

  • Monitor adherence to the specimen receiving procedure
  • Perform regular data cleansing within the laboratory information system
  • Monitor and coordinate resolution of failed electronic data messaging
  • Provide support for the laboratory information management system

Possession of a Bachelor's degree in the physical or biological sciences, political science, business or public administration, engineering, or related natural resources management field OR, any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a typical four (4) year Bachelor's degree. For example: Successful completion of sixty (60) semester hours of study, including twenty-four (24) semester hours in a subject required for the specific discipline, is equivalent to two (2) years of undergraduate education; and/or experience performing routine duties in completing multiple tasks such as policy research, data collection, interpretation, analysis and preparation of reports and written documents for at least two (2) years can substitute for one (1) year of college. AND at least four (4) years' experience managing and implementing, projects or component(s) of programs that are environmental, regulatory, or administrative in nature, where you were required to routinely perform program or project planning; provide technical assistance to staff, special interest groups and the public; and provide policy and/or regulatory interpretation and/or development. OR Possession of a Master's degree in any of the above fields AND at least two (2) years' professional experience managing and implementing, or overseeing projects or component(s) of programs that are environmental in nature, where you were required to routinely perform program or project planning; provide technical assistance to staff, special interest groups and the public; and provide policy and/or regulatory interpretation and/or development.

  • Demonstrated computer technology software experience. Typically gained by working with a variety of computer software, such as SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc. Please make sure your resume reflects this experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.Typically gained by at least one year of work in a certified laboratory.
  • Ability to understand and translate technical information. Typically gained by at least one year of work in a certified laboratory or graduate level academic program.
  • Understanding of environmental rules and regulations.Typically gained by at least one year working in a certified environmental laboratory.
  • Experience with scientific/technical report preparation and presentation. Typically gained by at least one year of work in a certified laboratory or graduate level academic program.
