Job summary

nVent is opening a new manufacturing facility in Lexington, MN, with onboarding at Blaine or Anoka, MN. We seek a Lead Quality Operations professional to guide QMs, oversee inspections, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing sites.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in mechanical or electrical engineering, 5+ years in quality/manufacturing, and experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, and CAPA activities. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field) is required.
• 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Quality processes.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Quality certifications such as CQE, CMQ, CQA, ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor training preferred.
• Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and support for Quality Technicians to achieve quality, safety, and performance goals.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to meet requirements.
• Monitor quality metrics and drive improvements and corrective actions.
• Support CAPA activities, root-cause investigations and effectiveness verification.
• Lead structured problem-solving using 5 Why, 8D, RCCM and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Assist with audits and maintain quality documentation and procedures.

**nVent is growing, and we want you to be a part of it!We are opening a new manufacturing facility in Lexington, MN, to support our expanding Data Solutions business. We are looking for hardworking individuals like you to join our dynamic team. This position is based in Lexington, MN, and our new facility will open in 2027. Upon hire, onboarding and training will be held at our facilities in Blaine or Anoka, MN until the Lexington facility opens.**

What You’ll Experience in this Position:

Lead Quality Operations

• Provide day-to-day leadership and support for Quality Technicians, helping the team achieve quality, safety, and performance goals.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor quality metrics and trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and corrective action.
• Support calibration activities and ensure appropriate inspection and testing equipment is available and maintained.

Support Quality Systems & Compliance

• Partner with the Quality Manager to maintain and improve the site’s Quality Management System (QMS).
• Help prepare for and support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, including root cause investigations and effectiveness verification.

Solve Problems & Improve Processes

• Lead and support structured problem-solving efforts using tools such as 5 Why, 8D, and Root Cause Corrective Management (RCCM).
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
• Participate in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Conduct daily floor presence and process reviews to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Partner with Customers & Suppliers

• Support customer audits, investigations, and quality-related communications.
• Collaborate with suppliers to address incoming quality concerns and drive improvement initiatives.
• Help ensure quality expectations are clearly communicated and consistently maintained throughout the supply chain.

Develop People & Build a Quality Culture

• Train and coach employees on quality standards, inspection methods, and process compliance.
• Support employee development through mentoring, feedback, and ongoing learning opportunities.
• Champion a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and Quality at the Source.

YOU HAVE:

• At least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+years of experience with Manufacturing or Quality processes.
• A year or more of previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Quality Certifications such as CQE, CMQ, CQA, and ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor training are strongly preferred.
• Experience in process improvement, planning, Six Sigma, Lean training, and quality systems.
• Experience withoptical, multi‑sensor, and scanning inspectionequipment(preferred)
• Experiencesupporting quality initiatives across multiple manufacturingsites(preferred)
• Experience leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Pay Transparency

nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$89,300.00 - $165,800.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
