Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. seeks a Production Supervisor to drive safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing setting in Texas. You will lead daily teams, coordinate training, and ensure adherence to SOPs, WHS policies, and 5S standards.

Strong leadership and hands-on problem solving are essential. Open to candidates with 5+ years in manufacturing supervision, solid communication skills, and proficiency with common office tools; Kronos/Workday knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in industrial tech, engineering, business or management.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience with supervisory exposure.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and leadership to manage a diverse team.
  • Proficient with MS Office; Kronos/Workday knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety and continuous improvement efforts to drive performance.
  • Coordinate training for production staff and ensure SOPs/WIs are followed.
  • Document reports, metrics, incident investigations and compliance records.
  • Evaluate employee performance monthly with coaching and support.
  • Foster constructive relationships and clear cross-department communication.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Recognize IKO values and exemplify them in your daily work
  • Lead a positive change effort to improved performance by motivating, recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities
  • Champion hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behavior based safety and risk assessment programs
  • Lead daily safety share, encourage and recognize all safety behavior
  • Increase employee engagement and improve the labor relations climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)
  • Coordinate trainings for production employee,
  • Job training with STD work description, SOP and WI
  • Safety training, STOP. FLRA and all others safety programs
  • Resolve any conflict immediately and assure that behavior is in line with IKO values, ask for help if needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc)
  • Evaluate employee performance monthly with coaching and support to achieve results.
  • Communicate instruction clearly and effectively to eliminate all possibilities of misleading
  • Identify training and development needs and personal growth opportunities for employees
  • Encourage employees to participate in all IKO activities
  • Continually improve the operational efficiency of the plant by submitting ideas and solutions
  • Active member of the daily meeting
  • Ensure a rigorous follow-up of all 5S
  • Report to the people concerned (manager, superintendent colleague, etc.) any production or safety situations or concern
  • Maintain constructive and respectful relationships with all staff.
  • Communicate efficiently between all departments
  • For all breakdown or needed a plan repaired, make efficiently a service request to maintenance dept. as soon as possible
  • Approve time cards, vacations, and all other Kronos and Workday requirements
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or management
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employees
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talent
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of KRONOS time and attendance system is an asset
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel (manual dexterity); and reach with hands and arms. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. Employee must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces. The employee must frequently lift and move items over fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position
  • Subject to 24 hour on call duties
  • Ability to work shift, weekend and overtime work required
  • Open availability (12 am to 12 pm, seven days per week)
Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.

  • Employees will be provided PPE to protect against all known hazards in the work place; compliance with usage is required.
Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Some specific training may require international travel.
