Position Overview

Reports to: Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Quality and Technical Service
Salary: $60,000 - $75,000
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, with occasional overtime and weekends

Summary

This role oversees quality control, safety, and food safety at the Saint Joseph plant. Responsibilities include maintaining product quality, ensuring safety standards, inspecting products, training staff, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and food safety regulations. The role involves data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement policies for quality and safety programs.
2. Supervise quality and safety control procedures.
3. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with legal, customer, and internal standards.
4. Ensure proper understanding and execution of tests and procedures.
5. Investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
6. Prepare reports and maintain documentation.
7. Promote quality and safety improvements across the plant.
8. Set and monitor QA compliance objectives.
9. Monitor staff performance regarding quality and safety.
10. Coordinate with Planning/Inventory to establish supplier quality requirements.
11. Establish customer service standards.
12. Participate in internal and external audits.
13. Maintain knowledge of OSHA requirements and ensure compliance.
14. Conduct training on DOT, safety, and quality topics.
15. Lead the Food Safety Team.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment

Must be able to stand long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to outdoor weather, dust, and chemicals. PPE includes safety footwear, eye, hearing, and hand protection.
