The role focuses on improving safety and performance using advanced quality improvement methods and collaboration with physician leadership and anesthesia teams. Part-time position based in Maryland with responsibilities spanning metrics review and compliance.

Qualifications

  • RN with current unrestricted state licensure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; master’s preferred.
  • 2 years perioperative nursing with quality improvement experience.
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Lean Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with physician leadership to develop anesthesia-related quality initiatives.
  • Use Lean and Six Sigma to facilitate anesthesia related quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with anesthesia providers and staff to understand clinical and business processes and define the scope of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify any aspect of quality projects that may need IRB review.
  • Review anesthesia performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate documentation to determine compliance with policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Condense complex information into a clear clinical picture and communicate findings.
  • Report audit or clinical findings to ensure appropriate outcomes and follow-up for improvement.
  • Complete mandatory employee health, HR processes and other required trainings.
