Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Risk Management Specialist to support claims management, incident analysis, and quality improvement initiatives. The role is mostly remote with periodic onsite visits in Wisconsin or northern Illinois, requiring local presence.

A bachelor’s degree in risk management and 5 years of healthcare experience are expected. You will collaborate with leadership to optimize patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field.
• Typically requires 5 years of experience in healthcare quality and/or risk management.
• Knowledge of federal, state and other external health care regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with claims adjustors and defense counsel in managing claims and reserves; assists in obtaining medical records.
• Develops monthly and quarterly risk management reports; analyzes trends and suggests process improvements.
• Analyzes patient concerns to determine root causes and supports resolution with staff.
• Participates in care management and quality improvement initiatives with leadership across facilities.
• Reviews medical records to assess if care met standards and reports results to leadership.
• Contributes to education and training programs on safety, risk management and quality.
