Job summary

AWT, a leading label and packaging solutions provider, has an opening for a Rewind Operator at our Anaheim, CA facility. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 1:30pm–10:00pm, with possible extra hours for production needs.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong troubleshooting, and attention to detail. You will monitor rewinding processes, perform QC checks, maintain equipment, and uphold a clean, safe work environment while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rewinding inspections to meet standards.
• Monitor rewinding process to ensure high-quality finished products.
• Understand machine capabilities to maximize quality and minimize waste.
• Perform QC checks per quality checklist.
• Meet deadlines and evaluate orders to commitments.
• Handle supplies for rewinding and packaging.
• Adhere to work instructions and suggest improvements.
• Update job status in the system database.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Be adaptable to high-pressure situations and deadlines.
• General housekeeping to keep production area clean.

AWT has the following position open in our Anaheim location:

The schedule for this position is Mon. - Fri., Hours are - 1:30pm - 10:00pm. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.

Required Job Duties

• Perform daily rewinding inspections as required to meet the company standards and individual job specifications.
• Monitor the rewinding process to maintain high-quality finished products.
• Understand machine capabilities to achieve optimum quality, throughput, and waste minimization.
• Perform Q.C. checks according to Quality checklist to ensure accuracy of job specifications.
• Ability to be aware of deadlines and evaluate orders to meet commitments.
• Responsible for proper handling of all supplies associated with the rewinding and packaging process.
• Adhere to existing work instructions/processes and contribute ideas and recommendations for continuous process improvement.
• Update job status in system database.
• Maintain a very organized, clean, and safe work environment.
• Participate in a continuous learning environment and adjust to new objectives as necessary.
• Be able to work at times under high-pressure situations and deadlines.
• General housekeeping to include but not limited to; sweeping, mopping, trash disposal, cleaning of work surfaces and other applicable duties to keep the production area clean and organized

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good troubleshooting skills
• Detail oriented
• Possess a cooperative team attitude, good listening skills, open-mindedness and receptiveness to feedback.
• Basic knowledge and/or experience maintaining equipment.
• Machine aptitude is a plus

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Experience in a label printing operation is a plus
• Basic understanding of Word, Excel, E-mail programs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Lift up to 50 pounds without aid
• Move/handle up to 250 pounds with aid
• Exposed to intermittent noise levels approaching 100 decibels
• Use of harsh chemicals (isopropyl alcohol, petroleum-based imaging oil)
• Exposure to modest amount of ozone
• Exposed to flashing lights needed for inspection
