YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Quality Programs Coordinator for Expanded Learning Programs (ELP). The position requires 3+ years in child/y youth development, strong communication, and the ability to ensure safety and program quality, with daily site visits and regular travel within the county.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Three years of experience in child and youth development, education, or comparable setting.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation.
  • Physical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site visits to assigned program sites to perform coaching, modeling of best practices and processes, and to conduct formal quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure all assigned expanded learning program sites have at least 85%-100% average daily attendance.
  • Collaborate with school personnel to recruit students and manage attendance/waiting lists.
  • Communicate with families, school personnel, and program partners to foster positive relationships.
  • Assist sites in developing and implementing daily activities that are academically aligned and age-appropriate.
  • Ensure standardized safety procedures are in place at all times.
  • Implement positive behavior guidance procedures and accident/incident reporting.
  • Ensure program requirements of ASES/21st CCLC grants are met.
  • Serve as site-based substitute in the absence of a Site Supervisor.

Overview

The Quality Programs Coordinator– Expanded Learning Programs (ELP) is responsible for ensuring consistent, high quality expanded learning programs across multiple school site locations. The Quality Programs Coordinator will provide on-site staff development and coaching, collaborate with school personnel and families, and offer on-site management and support to assigned program sites. The Quality Programs Coordinator position requires program expertise, emotional maturity, effective communication skills, and a strong desire to support program staff, strengthen families, and serve the community.

Schedule
  • Full Time
  • Program hours are 6am to 8am and 2pm to 6pm M-F.
  • You will be scheduled for 8 hour shifts M-F.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily site visits to assigned program sites to perform coaching, modeling of best practices and processes, and to conduct formal quality improvement activities
  • Ensure all assigned expanded learning program sites have at least 85%-100% average daily attendance
  • (ADA) including collaborating with school personnel to recruit students, managing student attendance and waiting lists effectively, and by incorporating student feedback into program design
  • Communicate with families, school personnel, and program partners frequently to ensure assigned sites develop and maintain positive relationships with families, school, and district partners
  • Assist sites in developing and implementing daily program activities that are academically aligned, age-appropriate, and offer students the opportunity to problem solve, collaborate, and showcase skill building and mastery
  • Ensure sites have standardized safety procedures in place to ensure participants are safe and accounted for at all times throughout program
  • Implement positive behavior guidance procedures and consistent accident and incident reporting at all expanded learning programs
  • Ensure school sites implement and maintain the program requirements of ASES/21st CCLC grants, school districts, and the YMCA of San Diego County
  • Serve as site-based substitute of the expanded learning program in the absence of a Site Supervisor
Travel Requirements
  • This position requires regular travel throughout San Diego County.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED.
  • Three years’ experience in child and youth development, education, or comparable setting required
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation.
  • Physical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities.
Pre-Hire Contingencies
  • Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with program participants
  • Licensing, state law and our funders require that applicants be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
  • Negative TB assessment or test results obtained within the past 60 days, prior to working on a school site, and every four (4) years thereafter
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire, and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety & Health Institute
  • Completion of one of the following:
    • 48 college credits at an institution of higher education
    • AA/AS degree, OR
    • Passing score on district’s Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam

Pay Range

USD $26.04 - USD $31.24 /Hr.
