Motion Recruitment Partners seeks a Manufacturing Quality and Control Engineer in Columbus, IN to champion quality excellence on site. You will drive process improvements, lead root cause investigations, and ensure compliance with IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP.

Expect hands-on metrology work using GD&T and PolyWorks, guiding cross-functional teams to reduce defects. The ideal candidate combines 2–5 years of manufacturing experience with a strong quality toolset and problem-solving mindset to

Qualifications

• 2-5 years in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
• Experience with AIAG Core Tools and metrology.
• Strong problem-solving using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa.

Responsibilities

• Quality management: Ensure IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP compliance.
• Dimensional engineering: Perform GD&T analysis and use PolyWorks for 3D measurement and part validation.
• Problem solving: Lead root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
• Technical Support: Metrology, SPC, and MSA (Gage R&R) studies.
• Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean and Six Sigma to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation.
• Collaboration: Work with manufacturing, tooling, and customers to manage change and resolve nonconformities.
• Mentorship: Coach less experienced team members in quality practices.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in GD&T, AIAG Core Tools, and metrology software.
