Aerodyn Engineering in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Quality Plate Inspector to perform dimensional and visual inspection of aerospace parts, review supplier paperwork, and ensure calibration of measurement tools before parts move to the next stage.

Responsibilities include inspecting with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and portable CMM, plus labeling and organizing paperwork. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years aerospace or automotive inspection experience preferred.
• Familiar with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other precise measurement equipment.
• AS9100/ISO 9001 familiarity.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook).

• Inspect incoming supplier parts, including paperwork review and photos.
• Run second and third checks on out-of-conformance parts before nonconformance.
• Review inspection reports and quality documentation for accuracy.
• Identify and label parts so inspection paperwork stays organized.
• Perform and schedule hand-tool calibrations, and coordinate outsourced calibration.

Indianapolis, IN | Multiple Shifts | Full-time

2nd Shift – 4pm – 12am or 2pm – 12am 4 days/wk. | Weekend Shift – Three 12-hour days

Pay Range: $25-$35+ based on experience

About The Role

Aerodyn Engineering is looking for a Quality Plate Inspector to inspect purchased and in-process aerospace parts and to keep our measurement tools calibrated. You'll perform dimensional and visual inspection at the surface plate, review paperwork for incoming supplier parts, and make sure everything meets our quality program and engineering requirements before it moves on.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of Aerospace or Automotive industry inspection experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, and other precise measurement equipment.
• Familiarity with AS9100:D/ISO9001:2015.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook)
• Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customer and management deadlines.
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter comfortable operating independently and with a team.
• Must demonstrate ability to act professionally.
• Minimum travel required.
