Quality Control Inspector

Position Overview

Rio Staffing has partnered with an established, highly efficient manufacturing team of 20+ employees to recruit a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector.

Because the facility manufactures components for aviation and aerospace customers, familiarity with aerospace or aviation nomenclature, precision tolerances, and quality standards ensures the best overall fit.

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Flex-time schedule options available once initial onboarding and training are completed)
• Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00 / hour to start, based on background and mechanical inspection experience
• Experienced Candidates: Candidates bringing direct aerospace, aviation, or high-precision fabrication quality inspection experience will have the opportunity to negotiate higher compensation directly with our recruiting team based on proven technical depth.
• Scheduled Growth: Built-in review structure targeting a $1.00 - $2.50 / hour wage increase within the first 24 months based on accuracy, throughput, and performance.
• Relocation: While local candidates are preferred, relocation assistance may be considered on a case-by-case basis strictly for exceptional, top-level industry candidates (not guaranteed).

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect raw flat and tubular steel, machined components, and finished assemblies in accordance with internal QC manuals and strict customer work instructions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and critical tolerances for structural components.
• Utilize mechanical measurement tools including dial calipers, bend radius gages, and precision measuring scales.
• Complete receiving inspection of incoming components and verify part accuracy against purchase orders.
• Assist with staging, assembly jigging, final outbound quality verification, and secure packaging for shipment via UPS, FedEx, or freight carriers.
• Generate and maintain accurate quality logs, work orders, and shipping records using basic computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Maintain clean inspection stations and work smoothly across tasks in an active shop environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on quality control inspection experience in manufacturing. Background in aerospace, aviation, or automotive parts inspection is strongly preferred due to customer technical requirements.
• Technical Skills: Solid ability to read blueprints, understand mechanical tolerances, and use dial calipers and manual inspection tools with precision.
• Aviation Fit: Comfortable with aviation/aerospace terminology, documentation accuracy, and traceability practices.
• Work Ethic: Strong personal accountability, high attention to detail, and ability to work independently within a tight-knit shop culture.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and move about the manufacturing floor.
• Commute & Relocation: Reliable daily transportation required. Out-of-area candidates will only be considered if qualifying as a high-caliber technical match under individual case-by-case review.

Preferred Pluses

• Experience operating in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 manufacturing setting.
• Forklift certification.
• Six Sigma exposure or lean manufacturing familiarity.
