Job summary

Aerodyn Engineering in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Quality Plate Inspector to inspect aerospace parts, perform dimensional and visual checks at the surface plate, and ensure parts meet quality program and engineering requirements before they move on.

This full-time role offers 2nd shift options (4pm–12am or 2pm–12am, four days a week) and a weekend shift of three 12-hour days. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, and opportunities to grow into CMM work.

Qualifications

• Aerospace or automotive inspection experience (3+ years preferred).
• Comfortable with calipers, micrometers, height gages, and optical comparators.
• AS9100/ISO 9001 familiarity.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspection with the inspection plate, calipers, and portable CMM.
• Inspect incoming supplier parts, including paperwork review.
• Run second and third checks on out-of-conformance parts before nonconformance.
• Review inspection reports and quality documentation for accuracy.
• Identify and label parts so inspection paperwork stays organized.
• Perform and schedule hand-tool calibrations, and coordinate outsourced calibration.
