Job Summary

With a focus on patients with a broad range of complex cardiac conditions across the continuum of care, assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the overall quality and patient safety program. This position is accountable for:

• supporting the organization's performance improvement process
• providing stewardship for the medical staff, nursing and other clinical professional peer review processes
• identifying performance trends, as well as prioritizing and recommending improvements

Investigates specific areas of concern as identified by leadership. In collaboration with Quality and Heart Center program leadership, provides consultation and assistance to medical, administrative, and other staff regarding peer review, performance improvement, patient safety and other quality-of-care issues. The Quality Coordinator translates clinical and operational data into actionable information; supports the monitoring and evaluation of quality, safety and patient experience outcomes; and participates in initiatives designed to improve care and services provided to patients and families. The incumbent identifies performance trends, formulates conclusions, and develops recommendations to support continuous improvement efforts within the Heart Center and across the organization.
