Job summary

Tenet Healthcare, via JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, CA, seeks a Clinical Quality Coordinator to manage the Chest Pain Accreditation program and related NCDR registries. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate data collection, and drive quality improvements in cardiac care.

Under the DCQI, you will collaborate with nursing leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, data accuracy, and effective communication of trends and changes across departments.

Qualifications

  • Current California RN license required
  • 2 years of relevant clinical experience required; 1 year of program management preferred
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers (maintain current)
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred; Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Leads ongoing maintenance of Chest Pain Accreditation Program and NCDR registries (CATH-PCI and Chest Pain-MI)
  • Ensures hospital compliance with REMSA STEMI Program Requirements
  • Reviews data related to cardiac programs and develops process improvement strategies with DCQI
  • Communicates regulatory changes or data trends to administrators, medical directors, and department leaders
  • Demonstrates problem solving and supports innovation in processes
  • Maintains professional communication with Medical Director and Chief Nursing Officer regarding changes
  • Leads in data collection, health outcomes reporting, clinical audits, and evaluations
  • Participates in Disease Specific Care committee meetings and performs minutes, data evaluation, and collaboration tasks

GENERAL DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Director Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI), the Clinical Quality Coordinator (CQC) is responsible for the organization of services and systems necessary for the multidisciplinary approach to the care of the cardiac patient population in support of the Chest Pain Accreditation program, as well as process improvement measures related to the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) programs. The NCDR programs include CATH-PCI and Chest Pain-MI. The CQC collaborates with the Directors of nursing in carrying out the educational, clinical, research, administrative, and outreach activities of the associated cardiac programs. Responsibilities

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Leads the ongoing maintenance of the Chest Pain Accreditation Program, and CATH-PCI and Chest Pain-MI NCDR registries.
  2. Ensures hospital is in compliance of REMSA STEMI Program Requirements.
  3. Actively reviews data related to cardiac programs and works with DCQI to develop process improvement strategies.
  4. Informs administrators, medical directors and hospital department leaders regarding any regulatory changes or data trends.
  5. Demonstrates ability to problem solve and be supportive of innovation and creativity of others related to changes in processes.
  6. Possesses human relations skills with an ability to handle difficult/sensitive issues with regard to associate and patient privacy.
  7. Excellent written/oral communication skills, including group dynamics and conflict resolution.
  8. Demonstrate leadership in identifying opportunities for improvement in all work processes both clinical and non-clinical with the disease specific programs.
  9. Provides essential leadership and coordination of patient care services related to the identified disease specific program.
  10. Leads and participates in data collection, health outcomes reporting, clinical audits, and evaluations related to ensure the objectives of the program are being met.
  11. Participation in Disease Specific Care committee meetings is mandatory to ensure the program goals are met in a timely fashion.
  12. Disease Specific Care meeting duties include but are not limited to taking minutes, evaluation of data, chart audits, collaboration with hospital departments involved in the care of the programs patient population and development of tools to assist in the evaluation and communication of the program.
  13. Maintain open and effective communication with the Medical Director of the disease programs to ensure physician engagement and approval of changes.
  14. Maintain open and effective communication with the Chief Nursing Officer of the disease programs to ensure nursing engagement and approval of changes.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Current California RN license. Nursing License (RN, LVN) or appropriate equivalent experience
  • 2 years of relevant clinical experience required; 1 year of program management preferred
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers (maintain current at all times)
  • Master’s Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to present self in positive and professional manner
  • Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice
  • Experience in data collection, entry, and analysis

Preferred:

  • 5 years’ clinical experience with 2-3 years of program management
