Baystate Health is seeking a full-time Quality & Patient Safety Specialist to lead quality improvement, patient safety, performance improvement, and regulatory readiness across the organization. You will partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions.

The role requires a BS, at least five years in healthcare quality or patient safety, and an active MA RN license. Master’s and certifications are preferred.

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in quality, patient safety, performance improvement, or a related healthcare role.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical processes and quality improvement methodologies.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate quality, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives across clinical and operational areas.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analyses (RCA), Apparent Cause Analyses (ACA), safety debriefs, and multidisciplinary reviews.
  • Analyze quality and safety data to identify trends, measure outcomes, and support improvement efforts.
  • Coach and collaborate with leaders and interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement, change management, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Support regulatory and accreditation readiness, including surveys, mock tracers, and compliance activities.
  • Partner with Risk Management and Patient Relations to identify trends, mitigate risk, and strengthen patient safety.
  • Provide leadership and support for peer review processes and the system-wide Peer Support Program.
  • Promote a High Reliability and Just Culture through education, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present quality and safety data to leadership, committees, and frontline teams.

Job Summary:

Baystate Health is seeking a full- time Quality & Patient Safety Specialist to provide leadership in quality improvement, patient safety, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance. This position uses data, evidence-based practices, and collaborative problem-solving to improve patient outcomes, reduce risk, and promote a culture of safety across the organization. The Quality & Patient Safety Specialist partners with clinical and operational leaders, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for improvement, lead patient safety investigations, support regulatory readiness, and implement sustainable solutions.

Required Qualifications:

Compensation Note:

The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees. Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum $98,051.00 - $112,715.00 - $133,348.00
