Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Quality Lab Associate to support microbiology operations at the Round Lake, IL facility. You will conduct biological testing on materials and products, monitor environments, and maintain data integrity in a cGMP environment.

The role emphasizes LEAN practices, teamwork, and adherence to quality and safety standards. First shift with occasional off-shift tasks, and opportunity to contribute to process improvements and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in microbiology or equivalent with biology/microbiology laboratory coursework and 0-2 years of lab experience.
• Proficient in LIMS (laboratory information management systems).
• Knowledge of GLP and pharmaceutical aseptic processing cGMP requirements is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in functions involving teams that impact production, increase efficiency, and improve quality.
• Support improvement projects and drive efficiency using LEAN principles (5S, Kaizens).
• Communicate with peers and management to ensure progress and issue awareness; recommend solutions.
• Conduct biological testing on raw materials, in-process and final products, and environmental samples; perform sterility or endotoxin testing.
• Perform routine facility environmental monitoring and critical systems monitoring.
• Prepare media and reagents used in the laboratory.
• Use lab instrumentation and LIMS to collect and record data.
• Monitor inventory and stock supplies; order and receive materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab area and perform housekeeping.
• Audit and revise laboratory procedures; perform plant SOP audits.
• Prepare data and trend analyses for quality system reports.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, FDA, QSR and cGMP.
• Will work in both Drug Delivery and Penicillin facilities as needed.
