Job summary

Baxter Healthcare seeks a Quality Lab Associate at the Round Lake, IL facility to perform biological testing across raw materials, in-process, and final products, supporting environmental monitoring and critical systems with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

This first-shift role (Tuesday–Saturday) involves collaborating with the Quality team, maintaining data integrity, equipment, and SOPs, while ensuring compliance with GMP standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology or equivalent with biology/microbiology lab coursework and 0-2 years experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proficient in LIMS and familiar with GLP and pharmaceutical aseptic processing cGMP requirements.
• Ability to multitask, be detail oriented, and work independently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in functions involving teams to impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve quality.
• Support improvement projects and drive efficiency through LEAN (5S, Kaizens).
• Communicate progress and issues with peers and management; propose solutions.
• Conduct biological testing on raw materials, in-process and final products; perform sterility or endotoxin testing.
• Conduct routine facility environmental monitoring and critical systems monitoring.
• Prepare media and reagents; use laboratory instrumentation and data systems to collect and record data.
• Monitor inventory; order and stock supplies; perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain clean, safe lab area and document laboratory investigations and SOP revisions.
• Perform audits of lab procedures and plant SOPs; prepare data and trend analyses for quality system reports.
• Follow cGMP and SOPs; contribute to other lab tasks; work in Drug Delivery and Penicillin facilities as needed.
