Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Quality Manufacturing Engineer (Level 1 or 2) to join our team in Promontory, UT. This 100% onsite role is part of the Safety and Mission Assurance group, supporting launch vehicles, missiles, satellites and space components.

The position offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. Primary and secondary salary ranges apply, with overtime and discretionary bonuses possible depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 0 years of professional experience (Level 1) or 2 years (Level 2).
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques and SPC.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Proven troubleshooting of production/tooling/facility issues.

Responsibilities

• Developing and improving manufacturing processes.
• Performing cause and corrective action activities to eliminate defects.
• Creating Build-to-Packages with engineering and planning documents.
• Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning.
• Presenting technical results to leadership and customers for review and approval of processes.
• Using SPC tools to control processes and reduce variance.
• Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of tooling and equipment.
• Provide input to end product design for manufacturability.
• Collaborating with touch labor to ensure safe and reliable space and defense products.
• Other duties as assigned.
