Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in team leadership or 8 years in manufacturing quality.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience in a union environment is a plus.

• Evaluate and validate non-compliance, complaints, abnormalities, and deviations; implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Apply cross-functional problem solving to reduce waste, drive decisions, and improve processes.
• Build and implement progress plans to improve quality performance and traceable improvements.
• Participate in capacity planning for products, materials, processes, and methods.
• Develop guidelines and standards for operators based on quality reference documents.

Michelin has an immediate opening for a Site Quality Manager (Pipeline) who leads the team in meeting the Site's quality objectives such as Right the First Time, Scrap Rate, etc. This Leader will participate in a 3-5 year training regimen that includes temporary placement in positions that facilitate a competent understanding of the plant manufacturing and quality process, equipment, internal and external resources and contacts.

This opportunity is in our Michelin Louisville Synthetic Elastomers (MLSE) chemical plant in Louisville, KY. WHAT WILL YOU DO

• Lead, manage, and mentor an impactful team for the organization within your hierarchical responsibility to ensure products manufactured by the team follow Michelin's quality specifications, standards, and plant objectives.
• Evaluate and validate all non-compliance, complaints, abnormalities, and performance deviations in the Site to implement an appropriate level of reaction.
• Apply problem solving tools/methods in a cross functional diverse team to eliminate process waste, solve problems and help drive decisions.
• Build and implement progress plans that will improve quality performance and follow up on process performance in terms of capability and productivity taking part in ensuring permanent improvements are made.
• Participate in capacity planning for products, materials, processes, and methods.
• Develop guidelines and standards for operators based on our quality reference documents.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

• Willingness/Ability to work in an industrial plant environment during normal business hours but support a 7 day/24-hour operation that will require occasional off hours work.
• BS in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' team leadership experience and/or a minimum of 8 years' experience in a manufacturing quality position is preferred. Experience in a chemical manufacturing setting is also a plus. Serving in a 'Manager of Managers' capacity is also a plus
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team by setting clear goals, delegating tasks effectively, providing regular feedback/coaching, leading by example, developing people, and fostering a positive work environment. Military service (Junior Military Officer or Senior Non-Commission Officer) a plus
• Effective problem-solving skills to analyze, find the root cause, and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce the risk of the problem happening again. Knowledge of A3, Six Sigma, ISO 9000 (required), ISO 14000, AIAG quality methodology, statistical process control, and process capability all strongly preferred.
• The ability to interact/communicate in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
• Unwavering committment to people. An effective incluencer that can extend impact beyond their Team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Excel is required. Power BI is a plus).
• Experience working and managing in a union environment is a plus.
