Qualifications

• Ability to work in both plant and engineering office settings.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support process optimization studies, de-bottleneck efforts and capital projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, reliability and technical teams to define specifications.
• Develop process design packages including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances.
• Support construction, commissioning, startup and performance testing activities.
• Provide technical mentorship and process engineering expertise site-wide.
• Ensure solutions align with Michelin standards and long-term strategy.
• Support process safety activities including PHA, HAZOP and MOC reviews.
• Maintain accurate process documentation and plant drawings.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Support operational teams through process optimization studies, de-bottleneck efforts, and technical contributions to capital projects.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, operations, maintenance, reliability, and technical teams to define and implement functional specifications that achieve project objectives.
• Develop process design packages including process descriptions, design calculations, equipment specifications, control philosophies, mass and energy balances, and process engineering studies.
• Support construction, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities to ensure projects are safely and successfully integrated into plant operations.
• Provide technical mentorship and process engineering expertise across the site as needed.
• Collaborate with site and central technical resources to ensure solutions align with Michelin standards and long-term process strategy.
• Support process safety activities including PHA, HAZOP, MOC reviews, and other risk assessments.
• Support project qualification and quality planning activities in partnership with the site quality organization.
• Maintain accurate process documentation and support updates to plant drawings and technical records.
• Review and verify process engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, operating envelopes, control narratives, and startup documentation.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, synthetic rubber, polymers, or other continuous process manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work effectively both in a plant environment and in an engineering office setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• Experience supporting project startups, commissioning activities, and process performance verification.
• Effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and process/product relationship knowledge.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
• Familiarity with process control systems, process measurements, and industrial data analysis tools is preferred.
• Attention to detail, data accuracy.
