Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a Quality Manager for our South Hill, VA manufacturing site. You will lead all quality functions on the shop floor, drive continuous improvement, and ensure product quality in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise Quality Inspectors, manage customer complaints & CAPA, and partner with operations to improve process capability and product consistency. A strong quality background and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience in a quality role within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Whys), Control Plans, and Process Capability (CPK/PPK).
• Experience managing customer complaints and CAPA processes.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive measurable quality improvements.
• Strong communication skills with production floor employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all site quality activities, ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
• Supervise and develop a team of Quality Inspectors, including inspections and testing/calibration oversight.
• Engage on the production floor to reinforce quality standards and prevent issues.
• Manage customer complaints, ensuring timely response, investigation, and resolution.
• Lead root cause investigations using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
• Own CAPA processes and ensure effective, sustainable actions.
• Develop and implement scrap reduction plans with tracking and reporting of key KPIs.
• Establish and maintain Control Plans for consistent process performance.
• Monitor process capability (CPK/PPK) and drive improvements.
• Support PPAP processes for new or modified products.
