Job summary

MPI is seeking a Quality Manager to lead a ten-person quality team and drive continuous improvement within our Quality Management System. The role focuses on evaluating existing processes, identifying gaps, and establishing reporting to monitor quality performance.

You will oversee internal and external audits, collaborate with operations and engineering, and support new product introductions to ensure quality documentation accuracy and NPI signoff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory experience within quality.
• Direct experience with sheet metal fabrication.
• Familiarity with GD&T.
• Experience implementing quality system improvements; ISO/IATF standards a plus.
• Automotive experience preferred; IATF 16949, AS9100 or ISO 13485 is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Quality team (inspectors, technicians, engineers) through prioritization, coaching, and accountability.
• Balance workload across the Quality team to ensure efficiency and avoid bottlenecks.
• Train team members on quality standards, tools, and problem-solving methods (e.g., root cause analysis, CAPA, PPAP).
• Encourage team members to identify process improvements and implement solutions.
• Drive corrective and preventive action systems (CAPA) to resolve customer complaints and systemic issues.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering on root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and defect reduction.
• Establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls that meet business and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain KPIs for quality performance; report regularly to division leadership.
• Lead internal audits as well as second- and third-party audits.
• Support the team for all new product introductions and engineering changes to verify quality documentation is correct and assist with NPI signoff.
• Participate in team meetings, document action items, and keep the team aware of customer concerns.

Description

• Organize and promote company-wide quality improvement efforts.
• Partner with customers, suppliers, and internal business units to resolve issues. Travel to customer, supplier, and internal business unit sites may be required when necessary.

Profile

• 3+ years of supervisory/managerial experience within quality
• Direct experience with sheet metal fabrication
• Familiarity with GD&T
• Experience implementing system process improvements
• Automotive experience is preferred
• Experience with IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO 13485 is a plus
• CMM experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred

Job Offer

• Base salary of $100,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
• 144 hours of PTO
